In an attempt to form an alliance between two formidable empires, it was decreed that the crown prince of Calendula were to wed the Epidotian princess of the neighbouring kingdom. However when the two had finally met, it became apparent that they were as different as oil and water. Oblivious to herself that her relationship was going stale, Princess Renee Annalise Vellamere continued her engagement simply waiting for the day she will finally be married to the man she was promised to.

With no home to run back to or belongings to her name, and an entire kingdom on the hunt for her, Renee is now on the run to figure out the mystery of the curse that has plagued her family's bloodline for generations.
