<p>Nick Sellars and Helena Walters are two teenagers born in Tidebreak Harbour on the isle of North Key. Nick was born blind, and thus sheltered by his parents before meeting Helena on his 8th birthday when their parents arranged to meet. An instant friendship was born, and now they are dancing around the idea of dating.</p> <p>However, as the world changes, so too does the energy present within it. Awakening one afternoon, Nick and Helena find they have superhuman capabilities, and are forced to use them in self defence almost immediately thereafter. As they deal with the aftermath of their fight, their feelings overwhelm them and they kiss.</p> <p>Their abilities still need to be explored however, and they quickly find they are not the only to awaken to such powers. Now, as they cultivate their spirit and body, they must tread an unseen path to the future, cautious of traps and pitfalls upon the way, as blind as Nick was before his awakening.</p> <p>This is an exploration of what a Xianxia novel might look like if it starts right at the instant when cultivation becomes possible within a society. As such, many traditional Xianxia tropes such as the dreaded 'young master' will not appear, and likewise there will be no knowledge available from sects to take advantage of. The intrepid main characters must discover on their own how to breakthrough, to use pills, to refine their arts and produce new ones and create terms to describe the process they follow, and decide what legacy to leave their successors on the path to ascension.</p> <p>They are the pathfinders, the innovators in this new and uncertain world.</p> <p>I hope you will enjoy this journey with them.</p> <p>Updates every Saturday.</p>
