<p>Musings on the eve of-</p> <p>A recount of the journ-</p> <p>Humanity.</p> <p>So much meaning in such a simple word; ask a hundred people "What does humanity mean?" and you'll hear a hundred and one different answers.</p> <p>This humble Philosopher has his answer, simply two diametrically opposed concepts.</p> <p>Law and Freedom.</p> <p>Unique to humans, is it not ironic that the two faucets that separate man from beast, are shackled by the very other factor that dignifies humanity as a separate entity.</p> <p>It is common knowledge that people, are shaped by experiences, yet just as the world shapes humanity, humanity shapes the world. Most would think of great monuments or workings in the vein of buildings like the Big Ben, the Pyramid of Giza, or even the Living Fountain of Croagh.</p> <p>But humanity shapes the world on every level not just the physical; a rock only becomes such when a man names it so, a tree only becomes so when a woman names it such, and the sky only becomes the sky when a person looks up and wonders what lays beyond.</p> <p>Yet upon earth there are limits to this phenomenon.</p> <p>A group of disparate young people wake up to find themselves in a world, where these limits are broken. Freedom to define the world as their will, with the Law of the world defining them in turn.</p> <p>Each choice has it's consequences, each thought has it's ramifications, and every word has an echo.</p> <p>Now the echoes shout back.</p> <p>The Philosopher -Day 365 since awakening in a new world.</p> <p>This is primarily a story exploring what it means to be human, using a lens of a hopefully real-feeling fantasy world. This story is not a power fantasy or a traditional Litrpg , while it has elements of these genres, it will focus on how these tropes would influence real people and possibly Redshirt will break some of these tropes along the way.</p> <p>There will be a variety of different characters and perspectives, some you hate, some you love, and some that will frustrate. Just as all people do.</p> <p>There will be some heavy topics explore, the characters views do not reflect the authors; however if there is an issue in how I present/understand these issues please do tell me, and I will try my best to rectify it.</p>
