15 th of Aiden, Year 2209 AX , the calamity of 'The Curse of the Red Eye', on a bright morning,

It was a normal day in the world of Zion. Glimmering sunlight dawned on the myriad buildings and roads of crowded cities and towns, on the grassy farmlands, water bodies, and through the thick canopy of the forests, peeking out from the curtain of mountains in regions highly boasting of scenic beauty and varying degrees of coolness. Bathing in the morning gleam of natural light, people prepared themselves for another sublunary day of their existence. No one would have even surmised the fact that their daily humdrum would be transmuted into a never-ending spiral of despondency.

From the Western sky swelled a black spot, so dark and menacing, and transformed the sky into an envelope of infinite overcast, creating a crepuscular division between the two hemispheres.

People all over Zion stood under the murky sky, expecting to witness an unusual natural phenomenon. Just then, the spot turned into a gigantic red-eye, and the people fell into a deep slumber. When they woke up the next day, humanity learned the population had decreased from five billion to two, which later led to the missing being labelled as dead. But it wasn't all. Zion was not the same anymore. Magic took over technology and cities came to ruin. Even though magic still existed in Zion before, only the non-humans could use it and in very sparse amounts. Dungeons sprang and so did monsters, which also included some evolved animal species that existed in Zion, due to the excessive magic. Society turned to turmoil, governments fell, new countries were formed and also the loss of precious human lives increased, mainly due to conflicts and magic-related diseases. All of this was put to an end by a group of twelve individuals called 'The Riders' who were acclaimed the strongest of humans. They formed factions and organizations under them and became the true rulers, each controlling a country. Three years later, some of the missing, who were labelled dead during the catastrophe, returned to Zion, with awakened powers just below the Riders. They were named 'The Regresos' and took the second place in the hierarchy.

Lucas Dray, once a despicable dirt of society, is now a Regreso and, secretly, a Rider. As a person who never liked to work—never needed to, who had everything since birth but lost it, even disowned by his family, because of his own actions, would he survive in a world where it is necessary to earn?!

**

This is a character-focused progression tale with vivid worlds, cultures, character developments, and more. It is going to be a long novel, a series. Some parts can be dark and gory and themes inappropriate for some readers, and so are the tags.

To focus on characters and flesh them out more, we have multiple POVs but clearing a fact, there's only one Mc, the one with the invincible plot armor. But it's not like he won't have his fair share of struggles. He is just someone who shall survive till the end, along with a few others.

Anyway, all said and done, let's go in for a ride!
