<p> <em> Through the Portal </em> is the story of two teenagers from Earth who fall through a wormhole, and end up in another universe. There they become the aliens, adjusting to a new culture and a connected galaxy filled with different peoples. But war is comming, and they'll need all the help they can get to survive. If they can stay alive and out of trouble, they'll be given a trip home. The question is: will they even want to return? In this, the first novella in the anthology, James and Rachael fall thorugh a wormhole and find themselves in a strange landscape: an asteroid field, with a breathable atmosphere. There, rivers of sand and ice flow through the air, trees of crystal grow, and <em> someone </em> has left them a note, assuring them that he'll be there to pick them up soon. But how soon is soon, and can they really trust the stranger anyway?
