For 100 years a single nation grew to become a technological and economical powerhouse. Growing the best scientist and political leaders like golden crops, they expanded and solidified their spot as a powerhouse. A normal citizen of Kaida never had to worry for anything outside their nation. Only with day to day life struggles, most lived in contempt.

The question is, who protected them? How can they live without worry nor fear of seeing the next day? It's a simple question that can be answered by any pedestrian. Everyone knew of the shadow that shielded them. Kid's who knew would call them heroes, adults would call them guardians. But if you were to look online and search for the shadow, you would only find one website with others barley related. There would be no forums, no discussions or details about them. Sometimes questions would be asked, but they would disappear like it never happened.

If everyone knew, then why weren't they talking about them? Was it an open national secret? Who was suppressing all topics about them? Again, another answer so easily found. The same people you ask about them, would shield them back. There was no fear driving them to do that, it was like an unspoken rule that they follow.

Not out of fear of repercussions, no. It was respect. An enigma with an answer so simple, that it's unbelievable.

So reader, listener, and viewer. Who and what are the shadow that protects us?

"Our Shadow" by Stig Simone

---------------------------------------------

What you can expect is a kind of slice of life soft military progression. I ultimately want a kind of feels good novel about the character(s) discovering what they are capable of. Ultimately learning more about themselves and each other developing trust. I loved the Classroom of the Elite and Irregular at the Magic Highschool but wanted more so this came to be. I also love subtle hinting and leaving clues in the story, leading you to be like 'no way' and re-reading a part and be like 'omg'.

A chapter a week is guaranteed.

I am only posting on RoyalRoad, if you see this on another site please contact me.
