description

Forty years ago, during the annual Martial Arts Tournament held in Yichang, capital of Xiqi Province, Zhao Longjie of the Zhao Clan, accidentally kills Master Deng Weizhe of the Liko Valley Sect with his Dragon Claw Thunderbolt. To show remorse and to seek forgiveness with the sects and clans of Jianghu (the martial arts society), Zhao Longjie destroys his qi energy and martial arts so he can never fight again, as well as forbids all members of the Zhao Clan from ever participating in any martial arts tournament.

Fast forward to the present day, Zhao Longjie's grandchildren – Zhen, Ju Long and Yanyu, have established a respectable herbal medicine business and successful restaurant in Xiqi Province. The Zhao Clan martial arts has been past down to each generation but only for self-defence purposes. Unaware of the unfortunate incident that happened forty years ago, Zhao Xiao-Xing, Zhao Ju Long's daughter, sneaks into this years' Martial Arts Tournament and accuses Gao Sying, a member of the Silver Sky Mountain Sect, for cheating during a duel with Peng Qiuyue, a member of the Liko Valley Sect.

Will Zhao Xiao-Xing repeat the same mistake that her Great Grandfather Zhao Longjie committed? Did someone really cheat during the tournament? What will become of the Zhao Clan?

Meanwhile, rumours of the legendary Fire-Glass Belt Sword being found are circulating and causing an uproar with all the sects and clans of Jianghu. Forged by Liu Tengfei for Emperor Tsung of the previous dynasty, it was stolen then went missing, until now. The Kai Brotherhood are wrecking havoc throughout Xiqi Province in search for it, as its believed to be unbreakable and so whomever yields it is invincible, thus can rule the world. Cai Zhong, one of the co-founders of the Kai Brotherhood, not only wants the sword for himself, he wants to kill Zhao Zhen to avenge his family with it. Will Cai Zhong achieve these goals?

As General Huang investigates what happened at the Martial Arts Tournament and tries to protect Yichang from the Kai Brotherhood, his Lieutenants begin to question his leadership and the Xiqi Soldiers start to doubt where his loyalty lies. His relationship with the Zhao Clan is put to the test and things get more complicated when the Crown Prince unexpectedly visits to aid in the search for the Fire-Glass Belt Sword. Will General Huang be able to unite his army with the people of Yichang and members of Jianghu to fight the Kai Brotherhood and stop a war over a sword?

NOTE: This is a complex narrative. With over fifty characters, a dozen sects and clans, plus a handful of cute four-legged friends, its set in a fictional dynasty - Chang Dynasty, in Ancient China. This is an epic martial arts adventure filled with unwavering heroes and crazy villains; a story about making choices, sacrifices and the search for identity; most importantly, this is a journey into the hearts and minds of those who are willing to die for justice.

There are no flying dragons, no magic potions, no sex. All martial art techniques are fictional but based on general kung fu principles, Chinese philosophy, Buddhism and for creative writing purposes only.

Feel free to critique, criticize and comment as much as you like and I will respond ASAP. For any Chinese-speaking readers, please correct me if I've misspelt, misinterpreted or misunderstand any elements of the wuxia genre. I am not Chinese so please accept my sincere apologies if I've offended you, or anyone, with my story.
