<p>Of the thousands of battles that took place during the 50-year Extinction War, the most important one took place in the Six-Angels System. It was also the largest public stain on the Astral Union's 600-year history. Now titled as the "Battle of Angels", the Bakri - a formidable alien force that sought conquest over others per initial reports - had discovered the coordinates to Six-Angels from a captured Capital Cruiser five months prior due to its captain abandoning it without activating the self-destruction sequence. (This officer was a political appointee. Both the appointee and appointors were executed after the war.) Due to this massive blunder, the Bakri struck the largest food production world in the AU – Angel-1. Angel-1 was home to the AU's most peaceful species, the Hi' Ri. A species with a penchant for growing any plants. It was also home to 65 million resettled humans, an intensive warlike predator species from a destroyed world called Earth. These stories will go over the Battle of Angels and how the humans were brought to the edge of extinction to protect their charges, the Hi' Ri. Stories will come from the survivors, and the dead via recordings of their battles or any data salvaged from the destroyed Capital Hope of Angel-1 and its surroundings where the heaviest of the fighting took place.</p> <p>Ode is an old human word for a poem that is a celebration or pay respect. We, the Hi' Ri, now called Angels, as a whole, wish to pay respect to the brave humans who leaped into the flames to save us from extinction, only to cast themselves into the flames in our stead.</p>
