<p>April 24, 1990: Sentient beings from a galaxy far away descended outside of Earth's atmosphere in gargantuan, obsidian colored ships. It took mere minutes for the people of Earth to notice them, however the ships remained silent for days. The first manned aircraft sent to probe the obsidian ships mysteriously disappeared as it collided with a force field blocking our planet from the atmosphere. The people of Earth were saddened at the loss of life and outraged at the audacity of these 'beings' who would lock them within their own planet.
Twenty-five years have since passed and now the ships are simply a mysterious phenomenon that are hardly discussed anymore. The people of Earth could only wait, but our protagonist, Alex Taylor, would soon be knocked out of his normal college life and onto the road of becoming something much greater.

Author's note: Hey all. This is my original story and the second time that I'm posting it on this website. I stopped writing it the first time because I felt something was missing from my writing and after months of reading some great works, I had finally figured it out–I was missing the emotion of the characters. So for those that have read, there are so many substantial changes to the story that you'll honestly want to start back from chapter 1. I will update this story every 3-4 days as school allows.
