The final (standalone) book in the Adventures of the Interesting Times Club tells tales from the loose alliance of misfits and adventurers from two worlds, Earth and Amur.

The young Emperor Marcus is dead and the Empire is now ruled by the High Council, a fractious alliance of noble Lords and upstart Guildmasters, held together though sheer force of will by Emperor's grieving lover, the common born Lord George. It is not an alliance anyone expects to last long.

To save the Empire the trouble of another tiresome civil war, Sir Brand legendary all round hero, several times savior of the Empire and the worst poet in two worlds has left the Empire to its own devices and travelled to the far away city of Sealmu Alu in an attempt to find his exiled father, one of the few people alive with a better clain to the throne than him and the infamous Butcher of Bergraz. There are dark whisperings that the man who held the mob at bay during the last Civil War has now joined the theatre.

As the Empire lurches from crisis to crisis like a drunk unicorn on an ice covered road, Lady Anna, aristocratic heir to one of the noblest houses in the Empire and her friend, the Earth born Lady Kate acquire evidence that suggest the Emperor's death may not have been the tragic accident it appeared to be and the trail leads all the way to the top.

Meanwhile the two Avatars of the Goddess of the River have disappeared without trace. Xavier, the Governor of Trafagar and Her Holiness, Natalie, the only person who can open the ancient Gateways to Earth are on a quest to destroy what remains of the evil Iron Brotherhood, their quest taking them to strange places of legend, Flor Ida, Amarillo and beyond.

And the instigator of all the Empires problems, the leader of the Iron Brotherhood, Clive Bonner isn't nearly as dead as everyone assumes.

Author's notes and warnings

Please note; this is the beta version which is no where near as polished as the final publish version will be. Please feel free to point out plot holes, bad grammar and missing/misspelt words. It is written in British English as opposed to American English and there is a suprising amount of difference between the two.

There are quite graphic (consensual straight) sex scenes, bloody violence, dark humour, extreme innuendo and puns that will make your hair curl. There are also same sex relationships and most of the characters aren't white. If you have issues with any of this you might want to read something else.

The characters all appeared in my previous novels A Minefield Full of Penguins, The Cormorant on the Lighting Rod and The Dragon River Adventure and are available on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited.
