To combat these threats, many different guilds were created, few better known than the Adventurers' Guild. </p> <p> Often called glorified mercenaries, these adventurers-for-hire take on contracts in the hopes of fame and wealth, sometimes taking jobs as simple as monster hunting, to facing the most heinous of criminals in battles of wit. Some become criminals themselves in the act of fulfilling a contract, no job out of the question for the less moralistic bunch. Other jobs, however, are personal and beyond the scope of a simple paycheck. </p> <p> Talon, his master slain, seeks vengeance upon the one responsible, letting nothing and no one stand in his way. The first of many horrors will arise in the wake of his fury, his will and many others pushed to the brink as they try to stop threats beyond understanding.
