<p>Exiled into an empty plane with nothing but a katana and the clothes on his back, 17-year-old Lucian has lived in the infinite whiteness for nearly a hundred thousand years. Time faded away into nothingness, leaving him with an empty memory and a lonesome heart. In this eternal prison, Lucian did the only thing he could.</p> <p>Practice.</p> <p>Inventing new techniques, perfecting old ones, breaking his body down only to have it regenerate, his life became an endless cycle of practice. </p> <p>As his time in the void prepares to roll into its 98,725th year, something changes. The void around Lucian collapses, shredding the empty plane into pieces. </p> <p>As he is about to die, a mysteriously familiar voice sends him back to his original plane, a world that has changed enormously in his absence. </p> <p>For while Lucian was away, beings called Gods have come to the Barshong Plane. Possessing enormous strength and power, these Gods brought with them their system of Cultivation. All humans on the Barshong Plane now have the ability to Cultivate, growing their Inner Strength to greatly enhance their power, and eventually attempt to reach Godhood themselves.</p> <p>The Gods, however, are not at peace. The most powerful beings among the Gods, known as High Gods, have taken control of the four great nations on the Barshong Plane, and set them at war with each other. Tens of thousands of years have passed under their rule, yet the war has not abated.</p> <p>Why was I exiled to the void? Why have the Gods come to the Barshong Plane? Who am I?
