"The nineteenth century is a time of wonder, of progress, of innovation. The discovery of the Chronospheres, mysterious and arcane devices found deep below the earth, humanity has accelerated it's technological progress greatly. However, the use of the spheres came at a cost. Monsters of old folklore have emerged, rampaging through the land. To combat this new threat, the world's leading eleven nations formed the Mortician Parlors. A group of elite monster hunters, led by the reclusive Board from within an ironclad airship. These men and women work day and night to butcher, maim, and otherwise exterminate the ravenous beasts. And they do their job well. So well, in fact, that the average citizen no longer even remembers the monsters are a looming threat.

Adeline LeFrey is an ordinary girl, living in a run down district in London, barely making enough to get her family by. But by the fault of her Mortician father, she is forcibly thrust into the world of monsters and hunters. Days range from mundane patrols to life threatening battles, whether it be against ravenous monsters or vicious gangs. Not to mention a greater threat looms in the shadows, bent on taking down the Parlor of London and even Ada herself."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the simplest terms, Morticians is about monster hunters set in an alternate steampunk 19th century. We follow Adeline LeFrey, a young girl somewhat managing to get by in a steampunk industrial London, as she becomes a member of the monster hunting Mortician Parlor, and how she gets tangled up in a mystery surrounding her estranged father.

The first batch of chapters will release quicker as I already have them written, but the story will slow down afterwards. My usual pace is one ~10k word chapter a month, but can be slower due to personal occupations.

Also excuse the cheesy synopsis I wrote it at 1am with no sleep prior. I'll pretty it up at some point. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
