The apocalypse happened, and you're probably dead. If you're not dead, and that really depends on how you define the word, you're probably one of two things… A block of disassociated human algorithm festering inside the machine's eternal hive mind, or a complete asshole.</p> <p>Don't take that too personally. Who lived, died, or became a spandex clad interdimensional turd cutter, was at least partially a matter of circumstances. It wasn't all your fault. I suppose it's also possible you're one of the good ones, but I doubt it. Me? I was tucked away safe and sound inside a government subsidized cryogenics lab under the Sandia Mountains, so I lived to see the future.</p> <p>But you can probably guess what came after World War Three and the apocalypse, right? Yup, World War Four. And let me tell you, World War Four was a grind. Killer machines scouring the Earth for the last human survivors… We all saw that one coming, and yet we swerved straight into it anyway.</p> <p>The capes on the other hand... No one, not even the eternal hive mind, saw that coming.</p>
