<p>We've all seen, heard and read epic stories and movies about larger-than-life heroes who sacrifice for the ones they love. They inspire and entertain us regularly.</p> <p>But what if you're the one the so-called hero sacrifices for their loved ones?</p> <p>This is the story of Lana Kelly, a woman kidnapped from her regular life, imbued with what most would call superpowers and then thrown into a warzone together with thousands of others as a desperate act to slow down an undefeatable enemy.</p> <p>What to expect;</p> <p>Characters with superpowers.Post-apocalyptic survival.</p> <p>Characters have to learn instead of being handed things.</p> <p>Growth (I hope for character growth, but I can guarantee superpower growth at least.)</p> <p>A cat.</p> <p>An author who doesn't coddle characters.</p> <p>Let's be honest; an inconsistent posting schedule. I'll not commit to anything more than; whenever I get a chapter done.</p> <p>Around three years ago I started to post this story, but my work-life pressure built up so much that I burned out. To make sure to reduce all areas that could cause extra stress I removed Shift from all sites. It still took me close to two years to recover and get my life back in order.</p> <p>Then I started playing around with NightCafe AI art generator a year or so ago and made a few covers for Shift (the first I added here), which led me to slowly starting to pick things up again and rewriting what I had.</p> <p>So here is the start of my rewrite. There will be no schedule, no promises of when I'll update, but I'd love feedback.</p>
