<p>Formerly, the magical world was strictly hidden away from the normal world and its denizens were kept a secret. The Pack Leaders kept the werewolves in line, The Conclave kept the Wizards in line, etc. etc. They prevented the rest of the modern world from knowing about them and the few normals that did know about them were grateful that people didn't know about the rest of the big, bad world. </p> <p>Abraham Hailstone breathes weapons into being, exhales his mind to create new life, and blows out darkness. He was a hero in the eyes of the people, a man that could never say no to a sob story. He battled through Hell and back to rescue an innocent soul. He threatened to assassinate the Lord Protector when his friends were threatened. He was the classic rogue hero.</p> <p>But when he tried splitting his soul into his Prometheus Breath in order to find out the hidden properties of it, he broke. His mind shattered and Abraham was no more. The artificial items he made out of his Breath died along with him but the intelligent life he made survived and became insane. </p> <p>They were created out of the imagination and personality of Abraham so with his loss they lost all reasoning and rampaged throughout the world, killing friend and foe indiscriminately and forcibly exposing the magical community to the rest of the planet. The supernatural community banded together in order to face the threat of insane, nigh-immortal beings that were nearly impossible to kill since they were usually reigned in by Abraham calling them back within himself. Though they had made admirable efforts to hold the line, they were losing hundreds to kill even a single one. The Lord Protector made concessions to the human world in order to gain their weaponry, thus the Wizards now had laws and regulations pressed upon them. The Grand Alpha plead his case to the UN in order to make the Packs he oversaw stronger, thus they were restricted to a few plots of land in exchange for chemical brews. The rest of the magical community made similar deals in order to survive. Painstakingly, Abraham's children were hunted down and killed. </p> <p>All except one, all except for Eric Hailstone. The one who was closest to their father and the only one who managed to retain his sanity. He killed his own brothers and sisters. He gave away their weaknesses. He saved the world. But that was not enough to salve his guilt over what his kind did to the world, so he now lives on the streets. Hoping to die but refusing to betray his father by killing himself. </p> <p>He seemed doomed to live a pitiable life until a woman walked into his live, until a woman walked into his life and asked him to save her girlfriend from the government. </p>
