25XX – Humanity as spread thought the solar system though not beyond. War has been eradicated and humanity has united under the banner of the Terran Federation. During this new time of peace people look for something to occupy themselves and have turned to virtual reality(VR) entertainment. VR entertainment hasn't really advanced beyond the visual input devices. Sure there are haptic suits to provide feedback to the user but it wasn't really that immersive.

Until Now.

Myisticorps Entertainment Tech (MET), a collaboration between Spirit Technologies and the Bluepoint Media Group, have released the first full-immersion VR dive unit called Virtual Entertainment Mind Input Unti, or VEMIU, though most people call it the VRC or Virual Reality Chair. Unfortunately, while it sold reasonably well among the rich, it was to expensive for most people to afford, even in this time of wealth. For years MET invested almost all of it's capital into making the VEMIU affordable and easy to produce. In fact MET almost went bankrupt a few times. Finally, after all of those long years of R&D, they succeeded. The unit was still pricey but now most people could afford one. Along with the re-release of the unit several new games were released spanning the genre's from sci-fi and fantasy to horror and psychological. There was a game for everyone but one game stood above them all.
