Lev Ross, a high school student at Intercity High, does not live his life, but suffers through it. He does not see a place for himself in modern 21st century America, and spends most of his time reading about alternate realities, or thinking about them. An unexpected event concerning the entirety of Intercity High allows him to experience something that he never thought he could, an entirely new world, and consequently, a new destiny for himself.
