The Reconnoiters—an elite mercenary group tasked with infiltrating the capital of Urukawa and assassinating General Yoshinaka—nearly comes to failure when internal loyalties clash, forcing its leader, Ardamius into a difficult decision that may alter the future course of the company, as well as his own path in life.

The Reconnoiters is a fast-paced thriller-style NOVELETTE of approximately 52 pages (finished) set in a pseudo-Japanese, high fantasy world with martial arts combat. I'll be uploading a chapter every day. There's five chapters.

This story was also awarded an Honorable Mention in this year's fourth quarter of The Writers of the Future, which is the largest science fiction and fantasy contest in the world.
