Seven children have been banished from their flying city, to be eaten on the ground. Giant monsters, insects that crawl inside your skin, and thats not even the worst thing that could happen to them.

Vermi wonder the ground, hunting for Humans. Genderless humanoid creatures with white hair who feast on human flesh, regardless of if said human is still alive.

Vermi swarm together in groups of hundreds, at the smallest. Immortal and unneeding of sustinance as far as Humanity can tell, they grow smarter as they age.

How could seven children possibly survive with nothing? By creating something, and being stubborn asses.
