A young woman is resurrected to form part of a dark army. No longer human, Alanna is made to relearn everything about the world around her to fit the vision of a rising threat. Or rather, that was the plan. Instead, this time is cut short.

Without a teacher, without a path to follow, Alanna is sentenced to serve the world around her. What is right and wrong? What is Alanna's role in the ensuing struggle? With no friends or family, no purpose or aim, Alanna must now figure out what her life means for herself.
