Adam wakes up to find himself surrounded by icy wasteland. Suffering from amnesia, he has only a floating blue stats panel to tell him who he is. He meets Jessica and the reserved but deadly Akihiro, who are in the same boat as he is. They journey on and find a valley of portals connected to a hundred different dimensions.

Spurred on by hunger, they take the plunge into a portal only to find themselves in an alternate reality Roman Empire, where everyone has battle pets.
