Tristan Devestin is aloof, incompetent, and wholly bored with life by the age of 12. Due to his peculiarity and incompetence, he is subject to relentless bullying and ostracization from his peers. In an instance where the bullying goes too far and results in his accidental death, his soul is transported to the domain of the taboo Goddess of Foxes, Rhemheia—a supposedly chaotic, evil goddess blamed for all acts of strife and deception in Human society.

The Goddess sees Tristan's potential to serve her, and amongst many offers, offers to resurrect him back into his own body, and even return him with her genuine blessing. However, there's a large caveat: the unique trait, Fox Hunt, that sets all exp values from tasks, quests, dungeons, and monsters to zero, and provides a 2x exp multiplier to all acts that result in the life of a Human being claimed. Unknowingly allured by the potential of the Goddess's blessing from a place deep inside of him, Tristan accepts.

In Path of a Thousand Tales, follow Tristan on his journey across the continent of Edith into becoming the legendary, thousand-faced fox feared across all of the Human world as he uses his unique skills acquired from the Goddess's blessing to carve his place into the world.
