The five of us were best friends who died on Earth and awakened in a world of towering trees and monstrous beasts. While navigating the new world was difficult in its own right, we also had entirely new bodies to learn and understand. Only one of us remained human while the other four became fantasy races with variations that were unique to this place. An elf, an orc, a shapeshifter, and a vampire. All of us had unique powers or abilities that were linked to the magic of Rhial, but not knowing how to use them became a danger in itself. On top of all of this, we underestimated the direness of our situation. The people of this place were nothing like the modern world, the dangers were unlike anything we could expect, and the very functions of nature and society were information overload. We had to learn that the hard way, and it threatened to break us all.
If you choose to read, you will see us for the carefree idiots that we were, but also the people we had to become to survive. Rhial strained our connections and challenged our morals, beliefs, and humanity. Yet somewhere between breaking points, we fell in love with this world.
