What is the first thing humankind would do if it discovered the existence of another world? They would exploit it.

Incembrance is told through the misfortune of Yvaine, an anxiety-ridden young woman. Despite her father's encouragement, Yvaine's crippling indecision leaves her stuck in constricting limbo as self-imposed deadlines quickly approach.

Following an accident, Yvaine becomes lost in another world. While searching for a way home, she continues to struggle with her thoughts while unraveling the lies of a past long hidden from her.

Feeling inadequate for the task before her, Yvaine is joined by Adrena, a small woman of seemingly supernatural talent. The two form a partnership to protect one another and uncover the mystery behind the world they now inhabit together. They quickly discover the origin of Adrena's power, a day ten years prior when "magic" first entered her world. Yvaine soon begins to question what power may be lying dormant within herself.
