It has been said that many years ago portals had opened all over Earth to another world. This world was called Estoria, a world filled with magic.

Estoria was different to Earth. Its world worked on a system where one gained access to status points and skills that could be increased with training. Those status points and skills were also able to be passed down making some family lines incredibly powerful and well known.

Many humans traveled to Estoria in the hopes of achieving power, fame and unknown fortunes. Some even stayed permanently building human settlements.

Others formed special bonds with Estoria's local inhabitants and were able to transport themselves and their Estorian companions to and from Earth with a set of magical Shards.

These Estorian companions became known as a Summon and the human holder of these Shards as Summoners.

Summoners realized that while in possession of these Shards that they were immortal in Estoria, being reincarnated back on Earth if they were killed. They also found out that their Summons are reincarnated back on Estoria if summoned to Earth.

A Summoner can also agree to a battle with another Summoner and can only be incapacited and not killed while on Earth. Due to this, a tournament on Earth was formed called The Summoner Games which saw Summoners battle it out with their Summons to claim the title of Earth's strongest Summoner.

At some point the first portals collapsed making it only possible for Summoners with Shards to traverse the two worlds leaving many stuck with no way back.

Flashback to the present day. Dedicated high schools were opened that included Summoner training in the curriculum. However, these schools only allowed enrollment for an existing Summoner's children. That is, until the Earth's governments enforced an inclusivity program that allowed a small number of children with no Summoner blood entry to these prestigious schools.

Jaff was excited, he now got the chance to live out his dream of becoming Earth's strongest Summoner!
