The Gods have overstepped. Only the Mediator can stop them.

Vayra is a street urchin without a coin to her name, but she is determined to make something of her life. Every day, she and her little brother scrounge for scraps, hoping to escape Decathe and the lot they've been born with.

But people like Vayra are overlooked and ignored. Decathe is one world among thousands. The Eternal Stream joins all the planets of the Galaxy, and civilization has spread far and wide. When a robbery goes wrong, her problems begin to mount. Her brother is poisoned, and a mysterious stone says that she is the Mediator—a mortal avatar for a God. The Mediator's duty is to defeat the God of the Sea and restore balance between the mortal and immortal realms. But Vayra is the avatar of the weakest member of the pantheon, and she isn't ready for the enormous task ahead of her.

Vayra must train, earn, and fight for every inch of progress she makes. If she can't master her power in time, she will lose her brother forever—if the Galaxy isn't destroyed first.
