In a reality seemingly meant to bring the deepest fears of its inhabitants to life, there are a small number known as "creators" – those who possess the ability to use this new reality's power to their advantage, and to, perhaps, write not only their own destinies, but aid those around them in escaping the horrors they had come to accept as a permanent piece of their changed existences so far from home.

Jack Porter is as unprepared as any when he awakens within this perfectly dark oblivion, but soon finds he has little time to brace for the inevitable onslaught of the world many call simply "Nightscape".
