Hu was a young sky nomad, living in a world that had been almost completely covered in water to stop a demonic invasion from beings of a lower dimension. Hu's people had always been nomadic since the flood, traveling in airships from place to place in search of resources and always in pursuit of new untainted lands to call home. But since the invasion, the world had become much more dangerous, and the sky nomads had to be constantly on the lookout for corrupted beasts and other threats.

Despite the challenges, Hu was determined to live life to the fullest. He spent her days exploring the floating islands that dotted the sky, searching for new plants and animals to add to his people's knowledge, and waiting for his chance to earn his full name.

One day, while on his first hunt for the migrating Oola herd, Hu and his brother TehYa stumbled upon a group of demons that had somehow managed to breach the watery barrier through the great vortex. The demons destroyed the masts of their Shelueh, and while Hu escaped on the crippled vessel, TehYa was lost, and Hu was cast adrift in a dangerous ocean. Now, he has to make it back to warn his people as the oceans slowly drain, and the demonic invasion begins again for the first time in millenia.
