"Why am I doing this?"

Everyone knows of him as the Mastari, Blackface, Ceweyn, or the Kingdom's Grace, but his true name is Kvarro. And unexpectedly, his great life, his momentous deeds, his pain and struggle, all began when he was a troubled young boy, days strewn with pain and suffering.

Fallen from his life as a noble, Kvarro roams the streets of Gont, committing thievery and other crimes besides. Betraying the ideals of his esteemed family, Kvarro feels like a leech with no purpose and no meaning.

That is until he meets Croaker, a man willing to brush aside the mark upon Kvarro's forehead, a man who gives Kvarro everything he's ever needed, hope and honor.

For honor, Kvarro joins an elite order of knights, the Dayknights, and meets other equally determined people. Friends and enemies alike train with Kvarro to become a Dayknight, all while a secret plan to destroy the kingdom unfolds.

In this action-packed account of Kvarro's life, fantastical forces and intimate character relationships are at play, all weaved together by the character, Kvarro–his mysterious past and the legendary steps that are enshadowed in the flames he leaves behind, good or evil . . .

What to expect: this story is going to be long. It is also going to have moments that are very dark and gory for our characters, but this story never fully steps into grimdark territory.
