Once upon a time, there was a beast that lived in a dark castle away from human civilization. Some claimed the beast was a myth, while others claimed it was real—only those who had seen it died or went insane. Hunters searched for this beast for generations but were unsuccessful.

Until Charlotte came along by accident. All she wanted was to search for Sanguine Roots that could help her father recover from a rare illness when she came across the dark castle. How did she become entangled in a situation that could endanger her life? When her father discovered she hadn't returned home, her father set up a hunting party to search for her—starting with the castle.

And when Charlotte met the beast, all she could think of how lonely this beast had been, and attempted to befriend him while she stayed at the castle voluntarily. Will the beast open up to her and reveal his past, or will he shut her off just like any other humans?
