Thesis statement:

Names have power. It's the first impression that we give to all people and something we always ask right away, for example:

"oh hi"

"Hey my name is Square what's your name"

"my name is Circle"

"you're pointless"

"you will rue the day..."

You see.

But that's just baby stuff.

Humans love giving names to things, you know, chair, potted plant, kitten, orange etcetera etcetera ad inifinitum. Supposedly it helps us to conceptualize and compartmentalize a continuous and infinitely complex universe… but all we are doing is putting things in boxes.

That's a bit of weird thing to put ourselves in don't you think.

In the first place we don't give ourselves our own names, so in the end it's just the universe throwing some random container on us- just like we named our own 'potted plants' potted plants and 'Aconitumm carmichaeliis' Aconitumm carmichaeliis. Just like how we name objects around us and those objects are unable to do anything about it, life names us and we are helpless to it. Whilst you could say that the names we receive are of much more importance, I'm sure life doesn't see us anymore than those potted plants.

Basically, names are everything and we just don't get to choose them.

And also foreword- I love plants and all but why was my name changed to Rose. Seriously… I'm a guy. Don't they know that that's a girl's name, I mean last time I checked that was the case. I don't know if that's still the case, though. It could be like the colour pink I suppose, you know, like it was girly before but it turned out it was manly the whole time. Probably not though.
