Thousands of years after his imprisonment, vampire Prince Zadrian Vayne escapes and begins his journey of vengeance against those who made him a captive. After meeting the dangerous alien, Vast, the two of them decide upon a pact to achieve their aims. Their story takes them across the universe to fight the vampiric Triarchy and other threats, whilst building power and allies, as well as making numerous enemies. But, will those that Zadrian meets along the way change him from the cold and cruel vampire that he is into something different altogether, or will he ultimately become just another ruthless force for evil?
