Vampires Ruin Everything

Irene had her struggles, but she'd always endured. The future was looking bright and she had it all planned out. Then she saved a man who turned out to be a vampire, and all her plans went out the window.

This is a story about a girl on the cusp of adulthood who gets in over her head. It's less of a story about power or wits, but about will power and self discovery. What do the people who don't have the power to fight back do? How do they fare?

Revision of an old story from 2006. There are themes of loss of control and powerlessness, as such the protagonist is intentionally weak through most of the novel.
