Meet Raze. He was a professional gamer, one of the very best players of Age of Hyperia in the world. He was a lethal Mage Knight, able to dish out a ridiculous amount of damage per second. With an elite team, generous sponsors, and a loyal online following, Raze was living on top of the world.

But everything changed in an instant. Raze was kicked out of the eLeague for trying to blackmail another competitor into throwing a match. And what's worse, his own team says he did it! He'll never play in another tournament again, his sponsors dropped him like he was hot, and his online platforms are full of his former fans' outrage. So what's a disgraced pro gamer to do?

Get drunk and buy a VR set, that's what. But while he's playing, a fierce thunderstorm rolls in. Suddenly, everything goes black and Raze is being instructed by a bodiless voice to make his new character. He fills out his name, designs his character, and chooses his skills, but now…
