"Is what you have a dream, or a delusion?"

Beck was never gifted in magic. From birth, he was designated as an Egra, the lowest rank a magician could achieve. But he never let it bother him, never let it get in the way of his dream to join a band: Groups of people that turn over to the Horizon, a mysterious other world where the unusual lurked around every corner. All it meant was that he had to climb a steeper mountain than everyone else. Right?

A third year in Anaestra School of the Arcane, Beck was still an Egra. It doesn't help that his friend, Killen, managed to reach Alphrodia in that same time - a feat unheard of in years. When Killen receives an invite to Liar Court, one of the most prestigious bands in the continent, of course he's happy; but, at the same time, envious.

He's not given a cheat system to progress, not blessed by some God or other. And while everyone else seemed to keep moving forward, he remained in the same place. Though he brushes the thought aside, he cannot help but wonder: What would become of him? What would become of his dream?
