Matthiaz Kornelia was the bastard son of the late king of Zarland who usurped the throne at the young age of 16. His many conquests reestablished Zarland's border to its ancient zenith, making the young usurper the first "Overlord of the Realm" in centuries. Fearing his terrible ambition, a grand coalition was formed to stop him. It was led by none other than the Chosen One whom prophecy foretold would "free the Realms of the West from an ambitious tyrant." Unable to defy fate, the Overlord was slain by this heroine, but this end was just the start of a new beginning.

The Overlord is reincarnated in a new world called "Earth" where he meets his future nemesis again before she herself was reincarnated as the "Chosen One" in his previous world.
