Vetarra did not have an easy life. It was bad enough that her parents had abandoned her shortly after birth, but she had to grow up as a Cavernal on the surface. The only people who had the heart to look after a dark elf urchin were the ne'er do wells and criminals that resided in the slums of Mosphon.

She spent the next sixty years stealing to survive, hated by most and had to watch as mentors and the only friends she cared about either outlived her, or became too old to steal from the rich and the foolish. Vetarra had resigned herself to a lonely life of petty crime until a chance run in with Talberna, the only other Cavernal she had met. The cold and mysterious woman says she can take Vetarra to her home of Quil'thix, one of the four major Cavernal cities.

Vetarra's need to find a purpose and companionship takes her miles below the surface of the earth, but can she trust this stranger? And can she survive the cutthroat society the Cavernals had built for themselves underground?
